The 1st set
The 1st set is excellent! I'd say it's a must have. But the 2nd set is just...good. Funny--it's often the other way around. Oh well. The whole first set really cooks!
The 2nd set is...good. It's highlights are TOO and Dew.
I'm just rating the 1st set.

What happened to the finale?
As noted this is a killer show. All 3 nights were good. The 1st might is an alll around better show to me, and the board is slightly better quality for that show IMO.
I have to give this a 4* b/c something happens to the board source and to a lesser degree on the Aud. versions. The last minute of Dew, which had one of the all time great finales by Jer on it totally loses Jerry. I do not remember this happening at the show. It is kind of a let-down since it builds to such a fine culmination. You'll have to strain and use your imagination.
There are better Auds then what has been uploaded thus far. I will try to get mine up.

Stellar indeed!
As has been said, this show rocks like a monster. Very high-quality recording here too. The jams and segues are smooth and flowing, and everyone sounds really clicked in.

Alpine '89
Loved the show(s), hated the Dust Bowl parking lot and camping area. Box Of Rain is stellar. Let Phil sing, damn it!

Summer '89 shows rule with an Iron Boot!
I have to agree that this show is a monster...easily the best Desolation Row in my experience, and even Mexicali Blues was interesting enough that I didn't skim past it (!).
This show is totally worth having...the drums and space (my favorite part of any show) are utterly mind-roasting...so much of this show seems so well thought-out that it simply can't be...it just happened that way...I'll be broadcasting this one across the village some sunny and warm Spring afternoon, and it will be one of the few shows that makes it into my car for the drive to and from work.
5 stars for sound quality and 5 because, well, the high moments are really high.
